This great wooden house sits on a plot of 6,989 m² (1.7 acres) of land. It has it's own woodland to both sides. To the front is the entrance and a cleared area where a vegetable plot and garden could be made. There are really great views to the Serra da Gardunha and to the rear are lovely views over the neighbouring cherry orchard and surrounding countryside.
The property is set in a beautiful, quiet spot. The access is approximately half a kilometre on a dirt track. The village of Vale de Prazeres is only a couple of minutes drive and Fundão town is 10 to 15 minutes. The village has little shops, bars / cafés, bakery etc. Fundão has a weekly farmers market, train station, schools, hotels, a campsite, swimming facilities, a sport centre, an archaeological museum, shops and supermarkets of all kinds. It's a very beautiful area with easy access, famous for its micro climate, cherry and general fruit growing, clean air, friendly people, natural beauty and the Gardunha Mountains. Castelo Branco is 40 km away.
The house is registered for habitation and has a 45 m² footprint plus verandas to the front and rear. Electricity and borehole water are connected and there is a soak-away septic tank. The house has been built to a very high standard with Nordic pine double walls and absolutely no corners have been cut concerning the protection and insulation of the walls, floor and roof. Inside, there is one double bedroom with a built in wardrobe. The bedroom has lovely views and opens onto the rear veranda.
For an extra bedroom, beds for children or guests could be put in the roof space above the living area. The stairs are not in the photographs but are about to fitted. There's a bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink and an open plan kitchen / diner / lounge that opens onto the front veranda. In the photos, the verandas are not finished, but they are currently being finalised. They'll have nice cobble stone floors and there will be a cobbled walk way to both sides of the house connecting the verandas.
